They’re Here…

They’re Here…

No doubt sweders have been breathlessly waiting to find out which movies made the cut. Without further ado, here is the list of films that were chosen to make their debut at swede fest™ palm beach 3.

1992's iconic interrogation scene from "Basic Instinct." Imagine the sweded version. No, really.

They are in no particular order, and are not indicative of which swedes will be playing in the theatre, and which will  play in the lobby during the opening festivities. But every filmmaker has a free ticket, and you’ll want to bring your friends, family, and your cast and crew, so be sure to snatch up tix before we’re all sold out:

Basic Instinct, Jurassic Park, Insidious, To Have & Have Not, Jaws the REAL ending, Specific Rim (a parody of Pacific Rim), Pulp Fiction, Swe7en, Desperado, Robocop, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Mementos, Rocky 3, Office Space, The Goonies, Catching Fire, The Shining, Noah, Star Wars, Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski,  Frozen, Her, Soul Plane, Spider-man, The Matrix, The Ring, Toy Story, Godzilla, How To Swede Your Dragon, Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Swedes, and Percy Jackson.

We may add a few more films to the line-up, as we’re still reviewing a few of the final entries (yes, there was begging involved, and we’re susceptible to abject flattery).

Emcees for the evening will be the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival’s comedic performers Wally Lurz, Krys Parker, Trent Stephens and Zach Myers, who plan to “swede the swede” with their own hilarious take on the movie that started it all: Be Kind, Rewind. The improv group promises amusing lampoons of Hollywood’s mediocre hit that spawned this whole tsunami of swedes, as well as fun interactions with the audience (with no swears or other inappropriate references, to the relief of parents everywhere).

Swede fest™ palm beach 3, sponsored by JFK Medical Center, rolls out the red carpet August 2 at the Borland Center of Performing Arts in Midtown in Palm Beach Gardens at 5:30 PM, and the swedes start rolling at 7:00 PM.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $9 cash only at the door (if we have any tickets left). Sponsorships and volunteer positions are still available for this see-and-be seen event. Check here to snatch up advance tickets, and check out the volunteer opportunities (which, we might note, come with a free general admission ticket). We still could use outside greeters, inside greeters/door openers, ticket helpers, ticket runners, ticket checkers, and VIP ushers.
